Cholesterol: Again on the biggest lie of all time
In 1977 and 1983, the American and British Governments issued food guidelines with the aim of reducing cases of heart disease and cardiovascular disease. Later, the same guidelines were adopted by other countries including ours. The food guidelines were based on the restriction of animal fat and in particular of cholesterol. Reducing food cholesterol would reduce that of the blood and this would have translated (which did not happen) in a reduction in cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular disease in general. Recently, some researchers wanted to reconsider all the scientific studies that were used in those years to come to the conclusion that cholesterol was the cause of cardiovascular disease.
What did they find out? All we believe is really right?
In this article, they have shown that many well-respected concepts, such as the role of cholesterol in cardiovascular disease, are in fact misplaced.
